2-Day Course Schedule

DAY ONE

 

9:00 a.m. — Skin Cleansing & Moisturizing Techniques
How to recognize your client’s skin type to assure getting the best surface, texture and clarity. How to achieve great looking skin regardless of skin type. Demonstrations on students.

 

9:30 a.m. — Review Session. Demonstration of skin care, foundations, concealers, powder and brows.

 

10:00 a.m. — Color Theory. How does color affect us? Understanding the color wheel and using color theory to choose colors that are analogous, complementary and monochromatic to hair, eyes and clothing. How to use this knowledge for every look you do.

 

​10:30 a.m. — Choosing foundations, color correctors and concealers. Custom blending foundations. when and how to use creams or liquids. Demonstrations on students.

 

11:00 a.m. — Introduction to Daytime Looks. Learn the differences in business and sporty looks and how to achieve them through color and application.

 

12:30 p.m.— Lunch Break.

 

1:30 p.m. — Master Class. Blush: highlighting and contouring. Ups: creating perfect lips, even without a lip pencil. Lipliner application. Demonstrations for each technique on students.

 

2:00 p.m. —Perfect Brows Master Class. The eyebrow is one of the most neglected, yet important features of the face. Learn how to make the perfect brows for each makeover you do.

 

2:30 p.m. — Daytime Looks Workshop. Demonstration of eyeshadow, liner and mascara for sporty and business looks. Demonstration of several looks and how to achieve them.

3:00 p.m. — Laboratory and Critique. Students pair off and practice skin care applications, concealers, color correctors, foundations and brows on each other; followed by evaluation and critique.

 

4-5:00 p.m. — Powder Techniques Master Class. When and how to use loose and pressed powder, translucent, matched to skin tone, colorless. Brush and puff application. You will learn how to do it all and set your client’s makeup beautifully. Laboratory and Critique. Students practice the presented material with evaluation and critique.

DAY TWO

 

9:00 a.m. — Review Session. 

Demonstration of business and sporty, addressing any problems from previous session. Introduction to Makeup for Evening, Glamour and Special Events. Demonstrations of sexy, sophisticated evening looks and use of color. Demonstration of several looks including smokey.

 

10:00 a.m. — Advanced Techniques. 

Demonstration of mistake-proof methods for applying eyeliner (pencil and liquid), shadows and mascara to your clients. Learn how to make the perfect line every time.

 

10:30 a.m.— Hands On. Students practice the presented techniques on each other.

 

11:00 a.m. — Laboratory and Critique. Students practice evening and glamour looks, applying the presented material.

 

11:30 a.m.— Master Class. Bringing your individuality as an artist to your makeovers.

 

12:30 p.m. — Lunch Break

 

1:00 p.m. — Master Class.

Makeup for the Bride. What will be her best look: romantic, classic, dramatic or natural? How different should she look that day? Demonstration of each look and how to achieve them.

 

2:00 p.m. — Laboratory and Critique. Pick a bridal look and practice on each other. Evaluation and critique.

 

2:30 p.m. —Master Class.

Makeup for the Camera.
In this session, we will discuss color, lighting, and achieving effects given by art directors. Highlight and contour techniques for black & white and color photography. Discussion of what should be in your portfolio and how to get started.

 

3:00 p.m. —Workshop and Lab for Commercial Techniques.
Achieving professional results on a schedule. Students perform 30-45 minute makeovers with art direction. Evaluation and critique.

 

3:30 p.m.— Workshop. Makeup for mature women, teens and men.

 

4-5:00 p.m. — Entrepreneurship.

Making your license work for you. Learn how to develop more business using your newly developed skills.
